YOU SHOULD NOT NORMALLY NEED TO
ADJUST THESE SETTINGS |
|
|
|
Routing
Options are the most misunderstood feature of the program and
mal-adjustment is frequently the cause of passage planning errors.
Because the
routing engine has the ability to decide which geographical route
is the most cost effective you should not normally need to adjust these
settings. For example, consider a passage from Immingham to the Panama Canal. The
Least Distance Track is North about
the UK. Quite often forecast weather conditions are such that the
routing application will automatically choose the Southerly routing.
If the English Channel routing option is deselected then the
Simulator will be forced to search for a Least Time Track on the Northerly route.
